UK Roads data sources and attribution.

UK Roads combines live and reference road information to show what is happening on the strategic road network, how traffic is moving and what roadside signs and signals are displaying.

Data sources and attribution

National Highways / NTIS: live DATEX II Event, Fused Traffic and variable message sign / variable speed signal (VMS/VSS) data, together with National Highways reference asset data.

National Highways CCTV: current camera images are loaded directly from the National Highways public traffic-camera image service when a camera is opened. Camera locations and identifiers use a preserved Traffic England CCTV catalogue captured via AllThePlaces on 27 June 2026; this is reference metadata rather than a current National Highways CCTV metadata feed.

Ordnance Survey: road geometry is derived from OS Open Roads data. Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right.
